Oh, if you people even had a shread of an idea...
I know I'm late to the thread, but just wanted to add my two cents that Nespresso is great. My only complaints are the single-source nature of the capsules and the waste generated by the capsules. However, I'm fortunate to have a bricks-and-mortar Nespresso outlet in Toronto not too far from my office, so I just fill a container with used capsules and periodically return them for recycling.
As far as the single-source issue, that is also potentially changing based on some recent court decisions. However, even if you stick with the Nestle offerings, they are good quality, and not really that expensive (especially compared to coffee shop prices).
I currently use the discontinued Romeo machine, which is owned by my roommate. But I'll be moving out next year, and getting a machine of my own will be pretty high on my appliance list.
It's probably time to post this link to the Outpresso again:
It separates the grounds from the aluminum, so you can recycle the aluminum canisters, and put the grounds in your compost pile.
You can bring the capsules back to Nespresso and they recycle them for you.
If anyone sees any Black Friday sales on these machines can you please share them here?
what the fuck do you think I've been doing up until this point?
Delonghi is having a sale here in Toronto, up to 60% off but Im not sure if Nespresso machines are included.
I'm encouraging you to work harder buddy.
Mikeman how much did you pay for your refurbished model? Overstock is listing some Blackfriday pricing on a couple machines.
http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garde...Coffee-Maker-Refurbished/6563103/product.html. @ $144
With milk frothier: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garde...presso-Maker-Refurbished/7323005/product.html @ $170
These are good prices if someone wants to risk a refurb.
Otherwise, I'm not seeing any great deals out there at the moment.
Given that the machines are much more expensive in the US, how much are capsules? 0.35-0.45$?
Refurb isn't really worth it with the $100 rebate credit for the Nespresso club that started today on machine purchases $199 and up.
$.55 - .65
$100 is only for the baller machines. The regular ones are $60
I was talking about the $100 credit:
Edit: would it be possible to get both the $60 cash and $100 credit?
Is that cash back like a mail rebate or do you get it instantly?
I think Bloomingdales was also advertising the $100 credit shib mentions, but didn't seem to have any other discounts.
