I actually just bought this exact pair two weeks ago. They were pretty much the only pair of "nerd" glasses that really suited my face. I think they are a little less extreme than many similarly designed frames you see and would work for a larger number of people.. Almost every one of my friends tried them on (not my idea) and they looked universally good.

Where in NYC did you try on the NDG-1s? I've been to a couple of places and none of them stocked them.
