Can anyone speak to whether Last Call is a "sure thing" or "hit and miss"? And what kind of prices are we talking about for a fully canvassed top of the line suit at Last Call? For those who have been to the Arizona Last Calls, is the Scottsdale one signifcantly better than the Tempe one?

Every time I've been to NM Last Call, I've found something. Sometimes it's as little as one Lorenzini shirt (albeit for 30 bucks). Hopefully, there's something else in the vicinity that would make your trip worthwhile - driving two hours to go to one store seems like a bit of a waste of time. There are only two things in the world that I'll drive two hours to get to. One's the beach.

I'd say "yes." The deals aren't on the level of what you can find at Filene's Basement -- i.e., you won't find $3,000 Luciano Barbera suits for $500. However, everything is severely discounted -- as in, $425 Kiton shirts for $175; Charvet and Borrelli shirts for $110 and $125 respectively. As for suits, the same goes -- $2,750 Oxxford suits can be had for @$1,100. Still expensive for the best stuff, but way, way below full NM retail. By the way, there's usually a sale at @30-40% off that lasts for a few weeks before the last call sale and markdowns. Here in the DC area, I'm pretty sure the last call sale won't be for another month or so.

I've had days where I found Kiton $4250 marked down to $495.

Oxxford suits marked down to $500 or so, etcetera.

The good thing is that everything there is good stuff, no filler 'just for the outlet' crap but all true NM level merchandise.

I have had good experiences at Last Call. I don't believe I've seen stuff made just for the outlet. I'm not near any decent shopping where I live so I have to watch myself at Last Call. It's like a kid in a candy store.

I saw a pair of Lobb shoes for $250 that I didn't buy during my last visit because of my not knowing the quality at that time. Wish I had.

Are you speaking of the Tyson's Corner store? If you do find out the date/close enough range please let me know... I'm in Richmond but I would drive up for it.

    BBB,

I nearly always go to the Mazza Gallerie one in NW DC. I'm on the store's mailing list, so I get notices of sales. I'll post when the Last Call is to begin.

So, is it appropriate for me to call the store and ask "When is the 'last call' beginning?"

Is that what I ask -- I'm assuming the 'last call' is when things get automatically marked down -- the equivalent of a sale.

sure. If they won't tell you that they must not be interested in making any money.

If you do business with a NM, they will send you a card indicating the dates of their last call sales. I think I get them several weeks prior to the sales at the Boston store. I suppose different stores may have different sale dates depending on location, climate, etc., but if anyone's interested I'll be happy to post when I receive the next sale notice. Also, for those in and around Boston, Louis sends out a notice as well to its customers a few weeks ahead of time. Lots of top shelf booty at 50-60% off, including clothing from:
    Asola
    Avon Celli
    Belvest
    Brioni
    Gianluca Isaia
    Incotex
    Kiton
    Lamberto Losani
    Lorenzini
    Loro Piana
    Luciano Barbera
    Malo
    etc.

Also, shoes from Lattanzi & S. Mantellassi

Would anyone happen to know if any of these sales take place in the NYC/ Long Island area?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't think there is a Last Call in Scottsdale, just a regular Neiman Marcus at Scottsdale Fashion Square. The Last Call is in the Arizona Mills Mall which also has an Saks Off 5th and many other stores.

There are Nordstrom's Rack outlets in both Chandler and Scottsdale and there is Last Chance which is where all the Nordstroms return items go in Phoenix.

There's also a great Dillard's outlet at Spectrum Mall in Phoenix if you just want a good deal on a Hart, Schaffner & Marx or Austin Reed suit.

Can anyone provide some information on the NM Last Call in Auburn Hills? I will be in the Detroit area in the next couple of weeks and am wondering if it would be worth a visit?
    Thanks in advance.

Like most of them, it can be hit or miss. Worth a visit since there is also a Off 5th. Other than that nothing worth writing home about. There is also a real NM and Saks in Troy. Off I-75 it is exit 69, "Big Beaver Road." Yes, that is exit 69, Big Beaver Road.
