Need tie help

One of my very good friends' brother is having a bar-mitzvah tomorrow. Im going all black suit, with a blue and white striped shirt. Its a very heavy dark blue that overpowers the faint white stripes however stripes are still noticible. I'm debating between what color tie to wear. I feel wearing a striped tie would be too overpowering and not flow with the faint striped shirt. So i was thinking a plain colored tie. But I am not sure what color. What you guys think goes with a dark blue shirt with faint white striped

Do you still have time to change the shirt? Id reverse it and do a solid shirt with a patterned tie.

i agree, i wouldnt go with a dark striped shirt under a black shirt. maybe try a white shirt with a dark tie?

It's too much dark. The black suit needs a light-coloured shirt, like a light blue or pink, in solid or stripe. A white shirt is too serious for a black suit unless this bar mitzvah is in the evening. But then again a black suit is too serious and dull for the daytime anyway. The tie should be darker than the shirt.
