Need some help matching a shirt with a particular tie...

Hi gents,


I'm facing the small dilemma of finding the right shirt to match a charcoal suit and this tie:





Do I opt for one of the following shirts (and if so, which?):









...or would you recommend something else?

I'm eyeing the purple checked one but the size of the pattern may be too similar to that of the tie. Thoughts? I'm pretty useless at this, so I'd appreciate any help!

Also, should I even be looking at blue shirts? Is purple the go-to colour for that tie?

- purple is never a go-to color for anything
- light blue would probably fine, white would probably be better.

Ah, I didn't mean a bold purple, more like my example of the white shirt with a hint of lilac or something. Thanks for the reply.

Yea...I'd still just wear a white shirt, if you really want to wear that tie although...the tie isn't really my favorite anyway. But if you like the tie, that kind of burnt orange color goes well with charcoal, so just put them together and have something calm in the background, like white or a very light blue.

Haha, I know it's not to everyone's taste. It was purchased online on a whim and I've yet to receive it, but thought that I could make it work. I just wonder how accurate the colour is, but we'll see. I appreciate your help!

Blue works with just about everything..and of course the classic whites.
