Need pants/color advice

I'm going in midday to close the deal on a MTM sport coat made from a nice vitale barberis, deep blue against cream.

From a distance it looks like typical black on cream.

Wondering about color recommendations for trousers, again, as the check is actually a deep blue. I may go ahead and order a couple pair as well.

Assuming the check is large enough, anything from the blue part of the color wheel will accent the fact that it's blue on cream.

Sorry - I don't have a pic of the fabric.

It's a typical very small houndstooth not unlike this:

Certainly something blue.... I'm guessing it must be on the dark side whatever the hue...
