Looking for a new staple navy blazer. Would like to stay under $500 and obviously good value. I've often worn some of the slimmer BB suits with good success (but don't like their blazers - also, I'm not really a slim guy, more of just average).

Any suggestions? I looked at a Hart Schaffner Marx recently at Nordstrom that I almost bought but it couldn't be let out enough to fit me correctly.

Thanks for any suggestions.

If the "slimmer" BB blazers work for you, wait for one of their many sales where the price would likely come below $500.

Seconded. Cant go wrong.
Well, I think you can go wrong if you’re not looking for something very unstructured. As far as I can tell, all S&M sport coats are made without shoulder structure which won’t be suitable for many customers.

The neopolitan cuts have no or minimal padding but do have some structure - I don't think any of their clothing is completely unstructured.

Many of their suits are padded. You can see in the pictures on their website the difference.

But yes, if you want moderate or more shoulder padding, look elsewhere.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

On the BB point - yes, I wear one of their "slimmer" fits, but remember the a BB "slim" fit is basically a normal cut elsewhere. So I'm not looking for anything that's actually slim fit in the absolute sense. Like I said, I'm pretty average-sized. 6'0" and 190lbs.
