First time mail orderer here.....

Very confused about the myraid of ordering question...please help.

I'm looking for some good fitting shirts for work etc...
I have a 29" waist with a 41" chest, so rack shirts (even the athletic cut) tend to blouse horribly.

I'm lost when it comes to the shade of cut, shade of shoulder, shade of body
choices. I'd like a shirt that is fitting, but classic looking.

Also, are there any fabrics etc. that are a must have?

Thanks in advance for you advice.

If you post a pic people might be able to give suggestions re shape of shoulder, etc. Alternatively, if you just try to shoot for the "middle of the road" choices but give accurate measurements where actual measurements are called for, you'll probably end up with a shirt that fits you better than OTR's and can be perfected on subsequent orders.

Kai, You can also email photos of yourself to Jantzen, to help them construct the shirt more accurately. As far as fabrics, I have 'French Oxford #1' and it is very beautiful, and high-quality. Nice soft blue color that works with many suit and tie options.

Given your measurements, I would go with the "form" shade for body.

On my first shirt, I made a mistake by selecting "normal" for the shade of shoulder. I think everyone wants to think they're normal, but looking in the mirror, my shoulders are clearly square. Be honest with yourself and you'll get a better shirt.

Also, VM has the best advice, send a picture to Ricky. Actually, send 2. One face on and the other profile. Take them without a shirt on.

I've always been aware that my shoulders slope, but their website is pretty vague about the difference between "slope shoulder" and "very slope shoulder". I emailed Ricky a photo of my body silhouette and a closeup of my right shoulder. I then called him to confirm that it was indeed "very slope".

I'm still waiting for delivery to see if he got it right. Time will tell.

If I've ordered a trial shirt from Ricky in the past, and want to order some new ones but with a slight modification, can I count on Ricky to have my previous measurements, or do I need to re-send him everything?

If you have your old email confirmation there will be a REF number.

I didn't use the REF number on my first reorder because I wasn't sure what it was, but everything turned out fine.

I also didn't provide full measurements in my reorder, just adjustments: cuffs +0.50", etc. This worked well and I was very pleased with the fit of the second shirt.

I've been looking at this one for a while. Can you please describe its thickness and the dressiness? Do you have other French oxfords from Jantzen that you would recommend?
