Hello Everyone,

I ordered something from the UK, and it supposedly arrived in the States on 1/14/09, but I have yet to receive it. The seller sent me this photo to verify that he sent it. I was hoping someone could look at it and let me know if anything looks suspicious about it. Cheers.

Do you really want your address posted on a public forum for everyone to see?

If you can read the tracking number you can punch it into the Royal Mail and USPS web sites to see where it is.

K

edit - Typing in your reference # gives this at Royal Mail:

_____________________
Your item, posted on 13/01/09 with reference RI689685889GB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

And this at USPS

______________________
Label/Receipt Number: RI68 9685 889G B
Status: Origin Post is Preparing Shipment

We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece.

I send a lot of stuff to the US, and as long as the postcode and address on the receipt are correct, I would guess that things are fine.

That said, I've never seen a notice like the USPS one, and it does seem like its been a while.

Yes - the proof of posting is fine, and the Royal Mail log is normal, but the USPS isn't one I've seen.

I've seen that USPS notice for the last few foreign shipments I've received.

That USPS notice is what happens in the gap between Royal Mail passing the item over and it moving through USPS's system. It should only appear for a few days until the item enters & clears customs.

But I've noticed USPS have been REALLY bad at updating their tracking info promptly over the past few weeks and often it jumps directly from that notice to the "item delivered" one. Hopefully they'll speed up their updates soon.

Thanks everyone, I didn't realize that the tracking number could be entered at USPS. The help I received from Royal Mail didn't mention which carrier the item was passed along to.

I appreciate it,

G
