My typical size in jeans is a 34x30.

I have a pair of 32x34 APC new Standards that I have to get hemmed. Since they are slightly tapered, if I get them hemmed 3 or 4 inches will the leg opening be bigger/wider than it is now? I didn't know if it would make a difference or not.

You can easily answer this question by laying your jeans on the floor and looking at the leg.

The leg opening will be wider as the jean is tapered, but 3 or even 4 inches would make a very marginal difference. That said, I'd suggest against hemming, as the fabric/stacks will compress (and look cool!) once the jeans break in more. Cuff for the first few weeks and then make the call.

Or to get slightly more pedantic about it, but requiring almost no effort, just measure what the leg opening would be 3-4 inches above the hem and that will tell you how wide it will be post-hem.

Funny thing is that I'm not dumb at all and I'm pretty with it as far as common sense is concerned.

But sometimes I just don't think.

Thanks!
