So I've finally decided to jump into denim in earnest but I'm facing a tough decision as I know that whatever pair I get now will probably be what I'm going to be showing up in to school every day of my senior year.

Anyway this is where I'm at right now; I currently alternate *************** pair of Cheap Mondays ( http://www.krudmart.com/product_info...oducts_id=1525 ) and a pair of gray RVCA's ( http://www.tactics.com/rvca/romero-jeans ). Now I think I've narrowed my choices down to either the Thin Finn's at the top here: http://farinellis.blogspot.com/searc.../Nudie%20Jeans, regular dry stretch Finn's with the orange stitching, or just some NSs. But my question is, would you hesitate to get any of these because of their similarity to the pants I've already been wearing? Or does that even factor into it for most of you? For some reason I think I'd like a pair that will look like this http://supertalk.superfuture.com/sho...9&postcount=44 eventually but I'm having a hard time finding a pair so blue jean-y that's still raw.

If you've got any better suggestions I'd love to hear them too I just know I'm going to have to rock these for a while no matter what if I drop the cash now so please let me know your opinions and help me make an informed decision, I'd appreciate it!

If you're going to rock these everyday for nine months then go for the gold. APCs and Nudies are great for fading and a slim fit but the denim/quality itself isn't crazy-special. Get some premium Japanese goodness. Double your budget. If all you're buying is one pair you can afford it.

Thanks for your reply, I definitely see your point, I'm having a hard time finding a pair of Japanese that fit in the same way that the Finn's do for example though. One pair that I could see myself inare these http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...laxedcombs.jpg but I'm obviously unsure how I'd get my hands on a pair of Samurais, anyone selling? I'll start watching for them in FS but does anyone else have any suggestions for some Japanese denim along these lines?

let me tell you, i have a pair of RVCA's from back in the day and they're the best jeans i had ever owned prior to going raw with my stuff. however, if it's a long term experiment, go raw.

Yeah RVCA is definitely one of my favorite brands, it's not too similar to most of the stuff on SF but I'd definitely recommend it nonetheless. But back to my original query I think I've decided on the Samurai 0500XXs, I'm just trying to figure out where the hell to get them now - I'm beginning to think I might have to book a trip to Japan, anyone know of an online retailer that carries them?

Awesome, thanks man! I was more joking than anything about the trip to Japan but some people I go to school with were organizing a group thing so I was just evaluating whether my Samurais were worth it haha

Heh, I'd say the trip to Japan itself would be worth it, and the Samurais would be icing on the cake... but whatever works.

Get KMW 1980, fit is more important then denim quality and these fit just about everybody amazingly.

I have also heard good things about the fit of Somet denim.

imo don't buy Japanese Repro unless you know what your doing as much of it fits horribly.

You're probably right but I can barely afford a nice pair of jeans so Japan would be tough to manage at the moment

I see your point but I've been looking at as many pics of jeans being worn as I can and I keep coming back to the S0500XXs I linked a couple posts up just because of the awesome fit on them. I'm 6' 3" and 150 lbs so maybe I'm just a noob but if my pair were to turn out looking anything like those (both in fit and fade) I'd be psyched.
