Sorry, what's the point of this thread?
I was thinking the same thing, but I'll give it a shot:
It's a regular model. They're old. The sizing info regularly wears off from that era. It's there, but faint. The S/D stamp is because they are factory rejects.
You might do better with your posting / questions on Ask Andy. There are some guys there who know a lot about classic and vintage American shoes.
