I picked these Tony Lama cowboy boots up today, can anyone please help me identify the leather type that was used on the boot. Thank you.

(looks like goat to me, but more textural).


Bullhide? My goat stuff is, as you said, less textured, softer, and smaller grained. Bull stuff (on Italian bags sometimes labeled "toro") is quite large grained like that.

But, again, with all this stuff it's hard to tell unless you have it in hand, and even then difficult (thanks to better synthetic or artificial graining techniques).
