Hey people!
I hope it´s okay to ask for your help on this. I thought that your extensive knowledge and eye for details may be of great help - especially US folks. I´ve been on the lookout for the suit that has been worn in the last scene of Gustavo Fring in Better Call Saul. I´m sure the brand is recognizeable to the educated eye from the US, I´m from Germany so I couldn´t really make out a specific brand.
The pictures attached are from the PropStore Auction two years ago. I wasn´t able to track down the person who won the auction for that piece.
I hope there are some clues that could point me in the right direction, thank you very much!! <3
Yours,
Anastasios
Edit: The pictures were scaled down unfortunately. Here is a link to high-res pictures where you can zoom in. https://propstore.com/product/bette...ancarlo-esposito-sommelier-conversation-suit/

It's a very nondescript cut. I'd be amazed if anyone here could tell you with confidence who made it just from these pictures. What exactly do you like about it?

Well first of all that it has been used in the production of Better Call Saul - I´m a collector :)) And it has an overall very clean look to it. Especially the lapel and the pockets (which tend to be a bit slimmer nowadays). It´s worth a try :) Many times you can identify brands by their iconic button usage (Ralph Lauren and Hart Schaffner Marx use rather "bulkier" ones, so that one isn´t from either). Or someone just came across that one.

You may have better luck researching the wardrobing for the show. I would never guessed Martin Greenfield did Joaquin Phoenix' red suit for Joker. So it could be the were all made for the characters or sourced. I haven't watched a lot of that show but I do know it has a lot of intentional contrast in the tailored outfits, so I don't know if that's by design or they sourced a lot of pieces. The character you mentioned does seem to wear structured shoulder suits with a standard two button stance and standard pockets and vents. Could be something in line with Canali or Brioni, or something English.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
