I've perused this forum all day and at the risk of being ultra repetitive I would like some opinions on a suit.

I got a side job with a chauffeur service driving a Bentley for weddings, executives, etc. I currently have a silk dark navy Daniel Cremieux suit that I like a lot but the boss says I need a black suit. I am also in sales so I wear a suit more than occasionally anyway.

The boss gave me $250 to pick up a suit. I don't mind spending a little more but I do not want to go much more than $300. In my area I have Dillards, Macy's, JC Penny, Jos. A Banks, Mens Warehouse, K & G Fashion, as well as an outlet mall with Perry Ellis, Express, Haggar, J Crew.. I am not opposed to shopping online.

I do want to make an informed decision so I get a suit that will hold up with time as I will be wearing it at least 2-3 times per month. I would like to find a high quality suit on deep discount but my time frame needs to be in the next week or two.

    Can I get some suggestions?

I can't tell if these replies are trolls or serious. So the better option would be to go with a high quality used suit over a new cheap suit?

I would definately go the ebay route. Tons of options for much nicer suits for your money that buying new.

The problem with ebay is sizing, you don't get to try them on. Budget for alterations if you go this route.

That's a legit point, but you can still get a real steal. Know your measurements and it can reduce the cost of alterations. You can also try suits on in stores to see what brands and styles for well and then buy it second hand.

I am not normally a huge Armani fan. I would look for a zegna, corneliani, maybe a recent hickey Freeman. It would be a little more modern and probably cheaper.

I purchased a Samuelson black suit with faint pinstripes off E-bayy for 100.00 which represents a good value for the money
