    Hey all -

I need some help choosing a bottle of scotch for a gift. I've had my fair share of good single malts but am not knowledgeable enough to buy something sight untasted. Price range is $250-$350. Must be available online. Preferably something that is unusual/limited/special bottling, as opposed to a bigger "name" brand. Something bright and not overly peaty would be ideal, and bonus points for cask strength. I was thinking the Glendronach 33yr or Samaroli Caol Ila 1980, but that's just from a preliminary scan online.

    Thanks!

Brora 35 seems to fit your description well save for the peaty part. But then again, you mentioned a Caol Ila so I'm not really sure where you are going with this...

Do you have any idea what this person likes? Presumably if he can appreciate a $250 - 350 bottle he must know scotch pretty well.
