What kind of shoes would work best with a black DB suit w/very muted pinstripes black wingtips or black plain-toes?

Thanks,
John

I'd think the plaintoes. A black DB suit is very dressy while wingtips are not. Wingtips are the subject of a recent thread on this forum-they're country shoes in origin but have become business wear in this country. They're usually better with heavier textured fabrics, which your DB suit probably is not.

Thanks - I was pretty sure the plain toes were the way to go. I just don't wear DB's that much (although I have a number of them). Going to a party this evening, and figured I'd get a little dandy-esque with the outfit...

Of the shoes that you seem to have available for immediate wear, the plain toe would be my choice; however, should you have the desire and wherewithal, a future purchase of a pair of <a href="http://.

Rayk, while I appreciate the suggestion, I just can't do cap-toes. I really, really dislike them; I know it's just some sort of weird stylistic/personal taste thing, and I know many others love them, but I can't do it.

For some reason I am infatuated with cap toes. Plain toes (I apologize beforehand) just seem a little too plain. Cap toes add a nice little touch, I think.

Defenitely a plain shoe. Maybe even a plain boot.
