Gay, who mentioned gay? You can get sued for that.

You can actually use any large square scarf, folded on the angle and then folded/rolled until it is two or three inches wide. Hermes has a good booklet on tying scarves and the below image shows many ways in which neck cloths were tied.

Hello,
first time posting so be gentle

I did a forum search first but didn't find what I was looking for (only mentions of an ascot or cravate). I'm wondering where I can find a silk neck scarf (neckerchief? What is it called?) such as the following pictures, from the runway:

I think the above is a Hermes Scarf. I've seen a lot of similar scarves in runway shots from Roberto Cavalli and Costume National.I'd perhaps get one in a different colour (solid navy?). I like the look and am planning on going to Europe this summer so I want to dress fashionably and not like a tourist. And, before I get flamed, I don't care if I look "gay"

Thanks!

Thanks to you all for your replies! Not to answer my own question, but some more searching mentioned that these kind of scarves are sometimes referred to as "twilly scarves". Is anybody familiar with this? Is there somewhere I can get one reasonably cheap? (online)

Thanks!

Very strict cut on Cary Grant's lapels. Interesting that he chose this jacket, with which to showcase a flamboyant neckpiece.
