Its funny that you bring this up. I was just thinking that backpacks as a fashion/style accessory had run their course, then you show this interesting one made from what appears to be overcoat material. Very interesting, especially with the contrasting colored zipper a la Etro.

Thanks for bringing this to SF

Seems like this only works because he's carrying it in his hands, like his weekender. I can't see anyone pulling off actually wearing the backpack these days. It looks really interesting, however. What fabric could that be? Tweed?

I wouldn't do it entirely as a fashion statement, though I think it'd work. I'd like it to carry my books from class to class.

I tend to agree. I generally don't like backpacks as they look too middle school-ish. Messenger bags are far too trendy for me - a good canvas and leather-trimmed one costing far more than I'd like to spend as well.

He works at the Adam store in the Meatpacking. Go in or call and ask.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
