ehaberdasher.com, shopthefinest.com, and virtualclotheshorse.com, all carry
Neopolitan-type clothing at great discounts. I have Isaia and Belvest ( not technically
Neopolitan, from the Veneto) sportcoats and a blazer and suit which I acquired online
from these merchants. Unfortunately, the current Isaia Base S model which is carried
at Saks is a bit short for me and seems skimpy compared with the jackets and suit
I bought from '05 through' 07. I wear 44R with 35 waist pants. Belvest makes a
superb garment. Mine is virtually unconstructed with an ultra-natural shoulder.
If you can't find a Neopolitan bargain, definitely go with the Samuelsohn
Talbot model. I don't own any but I've tried them at the local retailers and
they are beautifully cut.

The OP's definition of "neapolitan" jackets is vague and needs further input from him.
Do you mean:
1) unstructured? There are some American makers who do similar.
2) less 'padding'? See above
3) the fabled 'spalla camicia'?
4) 'made in Napoli' branding?
5) all the above?

There are some lower priced alternatives to the big boys of Neapolitan rtw (Kiton/Borrelli/Attolini) but I don't know if they are available in your area. Isaia has already been mentioned. Others who make a 'soft' jacket are La Vera Sartoria Napoletana, Sartoria Partenopea, and Flannel Bay. Partenopea has a very good deconstructed jacket they call a 'scarf jacket', and Flannel Bay makes some very similar to Borrelli's Linosea.

The first three are the only ones I would care about.

Hey T4, can you provide input as to where these can be obtained? I did a search for flannel Bay and can't find anything.

If you live in the US, I don't know where you can get it. Check their websites to find out where their dealers are. I believe Flannel Bay has a distributer in Canada.
