not just kobe. metta, pau, there's a bunch of walking wounded they're pushing into large minutes just so they can hold on to No. 8. i'm not so much worried about these playoffs (think they'r epretty much one and done), but a lot of these guys are at the points in their career where a serious injury can mean the end of everything.

I'm pretty sure you mean the Nuggets here ('94 1st round exit, still pains me to this day). He got fucked by the refs in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals the previous year. When he was fired so that they could hire Paul Westphal a few years later, I almost cried.

meh, I figured it would be a tough win at best for the Knicks and probably a loss. Bulls always play the Knicks tough, its a tough matchup for the Knicks, we can't seem to figure them out and they are much more physical than us, particularly without Chandler. I'm looking forward to Sunday's game against Indiana, that is another very tough team for the Knicks to crack but heading into the playoffs I'd like the Knicks to send them a message. I actually would not mind the Knicks losing 2 of the last few games, would much rather head into the playoffs that way then on a 15-16 game winning streak.

Bulls are a bit scary in the playoffs if they can beat the Heat and the Knicks without Rose, Noah and Gibson (although maybe Gibson played in the Heat game, not sure)

I have this odd feeling D Rose is waiting for the playoffs to start and will play. I have no basis for this other than its something he'd do.

It goes without saying that Robinson has been great for the Bulls (and not just during the streak-ending games either). He still makes some questionable calls but he is an effective offensive weapon. His sneaker game is on point too!

Indiana has had the KNicks and Heats number also. No one is talking about Brooklyn, but that is a tough team to match up against over a multi game series. They are big, have probably the only legitimate center in the league and a strong bench. If they face the Bulls in the first round, I would not be surprised if the Nets win. I much prefer the Knicks play the Nets than the Bulls. Heat face similar issues is they have to face Indiana.

Not really surprising as many in this thread had a feeling that this was the case.

Report: Rose all but certain not to return

And to keep in line with the Knicks talk:

agree about Indiana. although the strategy of "let's stay at home on the perimeter" works well against them even if it usually results in David West going off. it also seems like every team's offensive game plan against them should be to get Roy Hibbert into foul trouble, which is fairly easy to execute

I'm not a Nets believer though. Deron is underperforming, Joe Johnson is the worlds most expensive floor spacer (which really should be his role anyway unless you want an Atlanta style iso-Joe offense), and their success hinges on Brook Lopez 2.0, which has apparently finally installed rebounding.exe and increased aggressiveness close to the offensive basket

My problem with Brooklyn, if I was playing against them is if they control the pace and get you into a half court game where Lopez goes for 30/10, Blatche goes 20/5 and Evans gets 15 boards, you could find yourself in trouble. If they control the boards, which they are more than capable of doing, and either Williams or Johnson has a big series, they can beat anyone. They have had no consistency this year and they have not really shown anything that would get a Heat team worried, but the talent is there. Their first round series will be telling. If they come out like gangbusters and win quickly, I would not want to meet them in the second round.

Why are we talking about te Knicks here, as if they have a chance at making it out of the first round.
