as Hroi mentioned... Buss lived the dream and was lucky enough to be in a place/position so tolerant of a long long life of excess, indulgences, gambling, and wild success. damn awesome.

I endured watching the allstar game last night... and the sideline interview with dwight was horrific. dwight came off contrived and still waffling on how to answer if he's going to let the healthier west all star big men play more because of the situation. it was a fucking knee high slow pitch softball question to answer, but he then waffled in is irritating way.

the thing with the lakers is they have some big decisions to make in lieu of howard being the new face of the franchise.

Ginobili I used to. But when you follow the Spurs and see the shit he pulls...Now I'm neutral.

Same with Harden. Except for the hair.

has anything come out of that story where howard was making fun of Kobe in the locker room at the ASG? Is there any chance that those two will play together after this season?

The good news for Lakers fans is that no matter how bad the son is, he can't be as bad as James Dolan.

    tumblr cross-post:

I thought it would be marginally interesting to think about some NBA players of the past and their contemporary comparisons. Some are based on style of play, some on temperament, some on a combination and not all favorable as the game has changed.

KD>George Gervin/Bernard King: Both fluid scorers, though KD obviously has a more multi-dimensional game.

MJ>Kobe: Both relentless, both gym rats, both pricks.

Tim Duncan/Kareem: Both quiet, reserved fundamental big men who are/were quietly legendary.

Carlos Boozer<Karl Malone: Both have prototypical PF bodies, same amount of rings

LeBron>Larry Bird: The Jordan comparisons are inaccurate as only Larry Legend did so many things so well except obviously LeBron is a better defender and about 1000x more athletic.

Bill Russell>Tyson Chandler: Russell was better but this says a lot about the value of centers, especially low-scoring centers in today’s NBA. Chandler is probably defensive king of the stats that don’t show up in box scores in today’s NBA.

I'd put Lebron > Magic instead of Bird, just that big triple double threat every night. Magic is just more than running man and more athletic than Bird. Granted no one could really match Lebrons athleticism, likely not even MJ because Lebron has a few inches and easily 50+ pounds on him. The only player on the top of my head that I could think of that even compares to Lebrons athleticism in his size is Shawn Kemp.
