I'm a fan of parody :satisfied:

NFL is so fucking boring I can't stand it. Stop start. Stop start. Commercial. Penalty. Special teams. Commercial. Stop start. Fuck that.

We're gonna get accused of derailing, so back to bball...

NBA has too many stoppages as well. Way too many.

    IMO:

    • Make games 60 mins
    • Award point for technical rather than shoot
    • With and-1 situations, award point
    • With held balls, use a posession arrow, no more ability to call timeout
    • Make more timeouts 20 sec, lower number of timeouts
    • Create an new team foul level, if you get over 8, automatic 2 pts unless in act of shooting
    • Introduce 'play-on' like in soccer
    • 5 substitutions per quarter, make guys play with fouls, thus fewer fouls/stoppages

well I'm breaking my fingers because I sucked into a classic idfnl post where I ended up trolling myself.

total league wide team by team talent parity is a delusional goal, but to have lets say 5-10 teams fully capable of winning a championship is probably best. the nfl has the funnest model because those 5-10 championship contending teams is very fluid. The nba... not so much... baseball is the weirdest because it still basically allows you to buy a championship contending team, but still has small market teams winning the WS a lot of the time.

the nba is just geared towards the superstars. the superstars get the superstar foul calls, the superstars are now in control of where they want to go. there's always been the sense where Stern and Co. favor the big market teams. Hopefully when Silver takes over as the new commisioner it'll turn into a more balanced league regardless of market size.

    That means I won.

Agree, 5 to 10 teams + reasonably competitive games against those teams = parity

Stern made NBA about its starts. Too bad because guys like Verajao get overlooked.

But equal talent is overrated. Look at the NFL and the NBA - a select few teams win every so often, with a majority of the championships coming from dynasty franchises. MLB, on the other hand, with its freewheeling spending, sees new winners practically every year, and more often than not they are not the highest spending franchises.

    Love is coming to Philadelphia.

The jersey sales and marketing possibilities alone would pay for his contract.

Really surprised the Knicks pulled that out. If any of you are curious about how the Knicks play, this game is a perfect example: getting beat up inside, over-reliance on the 3, and a lack of go-to option other than Carmelo. I swear to god I saw Fat Ray Felton go flying out of bounds at least 3 times.

Brooklyn is a tough matchup for the Knicks since they are big inside (knicks don't rebound) they have a good backcourt and cover the 3 point line well but, we won. Carmelo kept the team in the game, JR Smith hit some big shots and Kidd came through in the end.

I wish we could write comments in the "like" because then I could say something like "only my pen0r" without offending anyone.
