still solid, don't get me wrong, and still a top West team, but they didn't move forward as much as i thought they could. with the exception of getting Doc, which i agree is a big step forward. but now the bench looks terrible - one of the things i enjoyed about the Clippers is that they could sit their entire starting 5 and the bench guys had enough talent to start a run. right now, only Crawford looks like he has any value of that group.

IMO clips made a big mistake not getting Barnes signed. Guy was solid as shit all season, even though he's older and never built a big reputation. Now he's had an efficient season and will get paid. Perfect guy for Pop's system, IMO.

SA needs to make a deal quick. Manu won't help them anymore.

^its a great trade for the clips.

but i just keep on thinking the proposed celtics clippers trade (involving garnette, pierce and doc) is like when you're bargaining at a garage sale with a guy and things start to get chippy and then the wet blanket wife comes over and nixes the better swap because she just feels like being a bitch.

Odom, Barnes and Hill are all gone not due to the trade so that is of a different story.

Reddick and Dudley can easily match Butler and Green/Billups production in the starting line-up, that is actually an upgrade just because of the injuries with Butler & Billups. Heck Butler barely got to play the 4th quarters last year (not his fault) and still got hurt.

Cant deny that they lose that energy and talent that Bledsoe provides but id wait til all the moves are done before fully judging the team. So far, that trade looks like an upgrade. Really will be hard to tell because VDNs lineup were very confusing last year.

stern did it to the Lakers a few years ago, its the Clippers turn I guess.

And they can still sign Barnes, doubt he'll get paid that much more, he did the same thing in Orlando and even went head to head with Kobe in the finals and his value didn't really go up that much. I think his wife has a say in where he signs and probably accustomed to the LA lifetyle.

    That would never happen.

my sense is that Rivers has generally done a good job of utilizing these sorts of limited-skill, limited-minutes role players and got decent use out of Hollins in Boston, considering his limited upside.

Serious. You're dealing with an immature, egotistical diva. If you really want him, why not go ahead and do silly stuff like this to stroke his ego if you think it might help? Admittedly, I have no idea if it actually will help.

Agreed. He's a useful role player who is fairly versatile defensively, and a hard-nosed energy guy who seems like a good teammate. Also a guy who is willing to be a bit of an enforcer when people are hacking on Griffin.

Yes, he does seem to have a history of being willing to take a bit less money to play for California teams where he thinks he can fit into a good role. I've always liked him since he was at UCLA (as a player anyway, he seems like he could be either pretty cool or a complete ass off the court). He grew up in Southern Cal (somewhere in the Inland Empire if I recall correctly), which may factor into it for him.

I just came across this, one of my favorite basketball ads. Too bad the quality is not so great.

This is another, longer version with more players (funny to see who they used) and lyrics.

Manu, for 2 years / $14m. Surprised he's still making so much.

Manu still has value. when he played well the Spurs were winning their finals games. I guess he's just at the point where the team can't rely on him heavily every game.

he's also a marketing dream for the Spurs, being the premier Latino star of the league still

Problem is he played one good game during the finals and practically gave two of them away.

lols...hiring a rookie who's just happy to be a HC and doesn't realize how soul suckingly miserable it's going to be to coach a tanking team with a punk ass star
