He isn't eating vaseline on an online video chat yet. He has a long way to go.
Can someone explain why the 2 is called a SHOOTING guard if he's not looked at to score the ball?
OKC were dumbasses, they should have made Allen an offer.
Not enough facepalms in the world if this question is serious.
Especially if it is to try and prove a point against Westbrook not fitting in as SG.
Celtics offered him money, Miami offered him rings. What does OKC have? "Come here and maybe we'll figure out how to win rings"?
Also love how he's a bitch for going to Miami but going to the #2 team in the league to ring chase would be A-OK Selective biases by bandwagon fans is AWESOME.
Can't figure out why Celtics would even offer Allen $12 million to take Mickael Pietrus' minutes and feud with Rondo. Can easily figure out why Ray Allen would be happy to give up a few million to go to a team with an offense set up to feature someone with his skills.
Sounds like he's more pissed about being shopped around early last season than anything else. Boston did a great job of getting Allen good looks. He did have to run like hell through 2 or 3 screens, but he got good looks.
Population wise I feel like NY has the bigger Asian market
that's always been ray-ray's game though...get screens, get open. I wonder how the Heat offense changes now? he won't have the space to get multiple staggered screens, Wade takes most of those. he'll have to be mostly spot-up from now on
If Mike Miller's ossified corpse could get open 3s, I'm sure Ray Allen can find some.
Dude, you have this notion that Westbrook playing his natural spot somehow means he wont get looks, thats just nuts. Westbrooks is a SG, he's not a point. He doesnt have the bball IQ for it. Jordan got all the looks he wanted as a 2. Kobe plays 2 / 3 and gets his looks, so does Wade. Come on.
And your 2nd sentence has a double negative in it and makes no sense.
Every possession in the finals could have resulted in an open 3 if the ball were kicked out. Allen will be able to shoot at will and will not need to run thru screens.
Yeah, people forget how the Celtics pretty much told him he was being shipped to Memphis. He's been shopped around so he finally decided to F em. Besides, Riles can close with with best of them.
Heat offense doesn't changes. What you saw out of the Heat in the finals is what you'll see more of - small yet long and athletic. Lebron pounds the ball inside, collapsing the middle, and kicking it out. That has been the Heat's makeup since they put this team together. The idea is Bosh, Wade and LBJ pound/drive the lane and kick out the 3 pt shooters on the team (MM, JJ). It hasn't worked that well b/c Miller and Jones have been oft injured and when they;re healthy, just haven't been consistent.
And, they certainly have some elements of multiple screens to set up a shooter in their offense. Huge get. Next FA target for the heat is Camby.
Jordan and Kobe never had a pure PG that holds the ball like Nash or Kidd would (that is why next year will be interesting with Kobe & Nash, this is the first time Kobe will play with a real PG outside of Payton and we saw how that worked out). Kobe and Jordan rarely stood in the corner and waited for someone to pass him the ball and just took the shot or simply makes cuts and through screens like Allen or Hamilton. No, both had to have the ball in their hand, like Wade and Lebron and luckily for both of those, they're the only one that handles the ball in the Heat.
In OKC, put Nash in there and with him handling the ball 50% of the time and Durant doing iso the other times, Westbrook will be useless. he'll get his looks but he needs the ball in his hands to score. He is a mass shooter. He isn't the king of efficiency, he doesn't shoot as well as Durant and at 50fg%, he had to take 20fga last year to get to 23ppg at 43% shooting. In comparison, Lebron takes 19fga(53fg%) 27ppg and Wade takes 17fga(5fg0%) to average 22ppg last year. That means Westbrook essentially has to do more, handle the ball more and shoot more to get less points.
You have this stupid notion that anyone who are a put into a "shooting guard" position should score (evident by your stupud question on why the word "shooting" is in the SG name if they aren't expected to score ). There are plenty of SG out there that doesn't score much nor are they expected to score. Westbrook is a PG and that is where he will stay especially in a team where the number 1 option is Durant. He is a scoring point guard and no before you ask, point doesn't need to pass all the time.
2011 blazers were full of talent. Roy, Wallace, Aldridge, Batum, Matthews, and they even had andre miller as a backup point guard. If only Greg turned out ok and Roy didnt retire the next season they wouldn't have blown the team up and could've even won a ring. Probably the most exciting team blazers will have for at least another decade. It's really sad as a guy who grew up in oregon idolizing drexler
