i agree, it's crazy talk to discuss blowing up the Thunder. they are by far the most talented and complete team from 1-12 in the league. Scott Brooks is a good coach despite his overreliance on the iso.

this is the same Thunder running the same scheme that got them this far. same iso offense run through Westbrook or Harden, same fearsome interior defense, same explosive bench. the only thing they are not doing the same in the Finals is making free throws.

you all refuse to give the Heat any credit but the Thunder havent faced a team with this level of defensive efficiency (Heat are 3rd or 4th in league iirc), this fast in transition, and who are able to give them a dose of their own medicine by outrunning them, screwing up their matchups and forcing them to go small, and getting them in foul trouble.

as someone who follows the Heat closely, I'm actually impressed at how the Thunder are breaking them down...as someone who's spoiled by the Heat's ability to ruin an opponents shooting with defensive speed and quick rotations, it's immensely frustrating to see Russ and KD be forced into bad shots time and again and still make them. it's also impressive to see the Thunder out-quick the Heat in transition because it's usually the Heat who do that to other teams.

I think the Thunder are just fine...but hopefully this isnt their time yet :D

Harden is probably the 3rd best 2-guard in the league. some say second, but I'm not ready to say he's better than Wade yet :D

getting rid of him is a big move. if he gets you someone like Rondo, then why not, but otherwise it would be silly to get rid of him.

I do agree that he has mysteriously shit the bed. given the defensive attention on the other two thunders, he is usually ill-defended. yet, he's shooting the worst. I guess this is the second Finals in a row that a James has choked on his team

Who says that he is the second best shooting guard? He is showing that he has a long way to go.

I read that he actually had a better playoff PER than Wade before the Finals. sorry, I can't find it now. but he has a strong case for third best - i'd take him over Manu.

plus he's the only nba player with a name that's also a Pokemon move, which counts for a lot

    Harden top 2-3 SG?

Wade, Kobe, Monta, EG, Manu, Evans and Iggy are all still alive and playing last I checked. The first 5 I mentioned are players I'd take over Harden for sure and the first 3 are for sure better. Hardens been hot and cold in this post season so far and dude fouls way too much, more pt will likely have him benched earlier than usual.

Harden is definitely not the 2nd best 2 in the league.

Over him I would take Iguodala, Jason Terry, definitely Ellis and Manu, Kobe.

Now ya, the argument is his age, but simply who is the best? No. You might laugh at the JET call but he would have scored more than 8 last night.

Rondo for Harden would be a massive score for OKC and should be done in an instant. I'd be willing to bet Minnesota would trade Rubio for Harden. I'd take that deal as well.

I stand by my argument this team needs a PG. You rely on iso, you rely on shot makers. You need some easy baskets, movement, etc. Variation.

I think OKC needs more post scoring. I didn't think their bigs would be as quiet as they have been. Ibaka needs confidence on those jumpshots (he did go 11-11 in the Spurs series). The Heat doesn't have much bigs and a pounding inside can really help OKC and leaves more open jumpshots than created iso or forced jumpshots.

I really do not see the need to pick apart the team at all, they are doing great and does improve every year. With the same team, I can confident in saying they will be back in the finals again next years and win it. Heck what am I saying, they can still win this series. All games were close, game 3 had terrible passes and bad bench management, game 4 was one silly foul away from a win for OKC as well. Are they playing perfect ball? No! But the Heat never looked like they were running away with the game at any point in the series, even when OKC were down double digits.

Keep this group in tact and it'll get a chip or two.

Warrior fan. Would rather have Harden than Ellis.

PER is a dumb stat that gets used way too much.

You just lost every ounce of basketball cred you could have had. lolololol at thinking a team wants to trade its most exciting player that's caused games to be sold out and the team to win again.

would take Harden over Monta, Manu and Terry (?!) for sure, considering age and potential ceiling. I forgot about Gordon, yeah I move him to 3rd best over Harden. Iggy is a SF. two years ago I would have taken Tyreke over Harden but he has regressed tremendously.

in other news, the Hornets traded Okafor and Ariza for Rashard Lewis. so the Hornets basically plan to pick AD, suck another year, grab the cap space and look to compete in 2014 with Unibrow, Gordon, a high 2013 pick and hopefully a top FA signing....

Gordon hasn't re-signed with the Hornets yet, right? I thought he was going to test the FA market this summer?

Iggy definitely qualifies as a SG, Turner plays more SF than him.

Future-wise Haden > Manu but right at this point and time, Manu is definitely much better than Harden.

yeah, he is. so the Hornets are prolly gonna waive Lewis and throw the checkbook at Gordon. that or have Jonathan Vilma put a bounty on him

I'm having a lot of trouble projecting what AD is gonna look like in the NBA anyway...is he a finesse Dwight Howard? a KD with worse offense but much better defense? a rich man's Anthony Randolph??!

I'm thinking of pieces, not the stands. But that's a reasonable point. Pure basketball, Harden has a lot of value to a team like Minn who could really use scorer. Look at the team stats, other than Love nobody on that teams scores worth a shit.
