Thoughts on Parker calling out Westbrook?
Anybody else really hate how the "analysts" love to use franchise history stats like they actually mean something? "The Celtics are 17-4 in Game 7s! ZOMG!" like the results of teams from decades ago has any meaning whatsoever on the modern team's chances. It's just so dumb, but they play it totally straight. Use the stats for the players actually playing if you want to have something meaningful.
Those last couple buckets by Rondo were backbreakers.
friggin iguodala, meeks, holiday missing all the shots when it counts
Give the Bostons credit. Tough series. Not much chance against Maimi, though.
i might be in the minority but i think the celtics have an excellent chance.
They played them well in the regular season but this is different. Why do you say that?
well regular season might not perfectly translate over, but it's a good indication (even if the last win didn't really count). bosh is out and that hurts the heats a lot. even tho pacers had a size advantage in their front court, heat's front court was just good enough that wade and james could over come that. with celtics tho, celtics has a clear advantage in the front court, their defense is far more stingy than pacers were in the playoffs, rondo actually directs his team unlike paul george, collison, or hill, and pierce and garnett are far better clutch shooters than anything pacers could cough up. basically celtics has all the advantages that the pacers had and in addition to that offensive and defensive fundamentals, experience, and good plays.
if you just watch pierce or garnett on defensive plays what they do is just amazing. they anticipate plays, see the rotation a player or two ahead, and help out by deterring players just enough to change their course of action and then get back on their man. they have so much experience
lastly, heats right now are basically 1/3 wade, 1/3 james, 1/3 the rest. Miami won in game 4 cuz of haslem, game 5 cuz of chalmers, game 6 cuz of miller. if any one of the three parts has an off day or celtics pressure them hard enough heats are going to lose. the way i see it heats' situation is very precarious whereas the celtics have a lot of different pieces they can use to keep the pressure up. if you watched the last 2 heats pacers games you could tell lebron was getting tired towards the end. it's true that the celtics are an older team, but lebron and wade have to play every minute of every game whereas celtics can rest their starters some and not have to worry a great deal.
tldr: celtics are pacers plus plus and heats almost barely made it against the pacers
i will predict tho that heats win in 6 or 7. i dont think celtics have a good answer for lebron or wade (when he plays like wade)
i think we can use this as the de-facto image of Paul Pierce's "face of rape"
Quote: +1 Series should go 7 - I see it as a toss up.
Go Thunder! Time to put the clamps on Ginobili.
7 to go...
OKC had that game won. Cant believe they fell apart like that.
Spurs, smooth and steady throughout the game. Had a rocky first half. The speed of that OKC team is phenomenal.
OKC is a much, much better matchup for Miami.
Spurs look to be a destiny team this year. Not sure that OKC has the inside players to rebound with SA. We will see if they can make the adjustments for game 2. . .
