The West centers are atrocious. They really need to let power forwards who play center move into that starting spot. I would be sick to see Haywood or some scrub start.

And as for the trade with Gasol and Kwame, it was highway robbery at the time. Pau wasn't the player he is right now but he was young and still very good. They (the grizz) could have gotten cap relief from a number of teams in the league but Jerry West just wanted to help out his old team. Now it doesn't seem as bad, they got Gasol who is solid, turned Kwame's expiring contract into Zach Randolph I think, and got a 1st rounder out of the trade. Plus the Grizzlies weren't going anywhere with Pau as the #1 option.

sorry, but these four things you quite correctly cite seem to argue against "highway robbery", or at least make it highway robbery of a most unusual sort.

I meant it as highway robbery at the time when the trade happened. Gasol was a 2nd rounder who was basically a throw in, kwame was kwame, Javaris had some potential, and the draft picks that were thrown in were pretty much guaranteed to be mid to late 1st rounders. All the while getting a young talented big who was an all star talent that could put you over the top.

Yaos done for the season so I guess it is Bynums spot in the starting 5 now, unless that replacement is decided by the coaches or the commish, then it'll most likely be Okafor.

Nah...I don't see it...just at "kids these days" in general.

And if he WAS taking a shot at LeBron, I'd much rather he just come out and say "and furthermore, Lebron's a bitch. That is all."

He'd be even more celebrated by fans....when away, the home crowd will give him a standing ovation. It would be great.
