1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

    There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    sorry, as an old sportswriter, this strikes me as a strong candidate for what used to be called "hot stove league". you could sit in a bar and pop rumors like this up and fill your column requirement and if it didn't happen, it must have been because the execs just couldn't get hte deal to work. but really, they were thisclose

    It isn't just from yahoo Sports, ESPN is also reporting it as well but at this point, until someone actually signs anything then nothing is really happening.

    Looking at the Denver roster, I'd like it better if the Lakers get Howard with Faried and Chandler. I really do not want to see Harrington as a Laker.

    the Lakers are desperate for a young superstar to build around as Kobe winds his career down. Dwight will keep the star-hungry Laker fans interested and will be better than an aging Gasol and a dumbass Bynum after Nash and Kobe retire.

    From Stein:

    @ESPNSteinLine
    Names in deal still emerging but sources say ORL definitely getting Afflalo, Harrington, Vucevic & one future 1ST from all three other teams

    @ESPNSteinLine
    Sources tell ESPN trade also calls for Sixers to get Jason Richardson with Bynum, with Iguodala to Denver & Dwight, obviously, to Lakerland

    @ESPNSteinLine
    Other names likely to emerge. Example: Just heard Harkless to Orlando. But deal that's being submitted for league approval indeed Pau-less

    +1 - Not a good deal for LA if it does go through, IMO. Why make a trade when he has stated that he will not sign an extension?

    Lakers have always said they are willing to take the risk. Looks like a done deal and papers will be signed tomorrow and yeah Pau stays. WOOT!

    Got to say, the real winners here are the 76'ers. Who in their right mind thought that they'd get the 2nd best center in the league and only have to give up Iguodala and their 1st round pick, plus another 1st? That's a real winner right there and exactly what they needed. Essentially that was just a team of perimeter guys.
