I would enjoy Nash on the Heat. but someone like a poor man's Tyson Chandler would probably be more important. much as I love Nash, that would be 3 ball-dominant players on the floor

oh, and Beasley is fucking shit. it was clear during those days when it leaked on the local news that Pat Riley was frantically trying to trade the #2 pick for the right to draft Derrick Rose. he should have had the balls to just draft Westbrook or Love (although of course, hindsight is 20/20)

Walton's contract is bigger than Sessions's, so I don't think it was used.

But they can't use that trade exception to sign Nash. They'd have to do a sign-and-trade with phoenix. But if phoenix were to do a sign-and-trade, they can get back a lot more than a trade exception.

Nash would never demand a trade, that's just who he is. He doesn't want to be the bad guy. But pretty sure he wouldn't cry if he was traded to a contending team. Our owner, Robert Sarver, is one of the worst owners in the league. Cheap skate. Wants to keep Nash on the team as long as possible to fill the seats. Arena is already pretty baron, I'd imagine it would be a ghost town without him.

Being a huge Suns and Nash fan, I'd love to see him get a ring, even on another team. A ring would solidify his admittance to the Hall of Fame.

You read correctly. But as others have pointed out, he isn't the type to demand a trade. Dude needs to play for a real contender. He's only playing what, 30 minutes a game and is putting up fantastic numbers. I think we now know it was Nash, not Amare, that really made the Suns competitive.

During their run and gun days, Phoenix was the place to go if you were a free agent. Nash would make them look way better than they actually were and score bigger contracts. Joe Johnson scored that massive contract. Amare got his. Even a player like Barbosa got a nice contract.

During that same time period, people said the players around him made Nash look better than he was, that's why he won 2 MVP awards. Nash is still putting up great numbers and leads the league in assists with players like Frye, Gortat, Brown, Dudley, etc. It's insane.

Those 2004-2006 suns teams were fucking loaded. All steve nash team's seem to be cursed with weaknesses in a defensive stopper at PF/C and or weak assed 2nd units due to cheap owners/bad contracts.

hell even the team with shaq on it was loaded with quality players. Its just that they were really front heavy with weaaaaak assed 2nd units - and they were hampered with cheap owners/bad contracts to really add those 2nd unit guys - or in the case of Joe Johnson (keep him with even a moderate contract).

to think if the 2004-2006 suns had someone like a Kendrick Perkins they would've won a championship easy... but if they had someone like tyson chandler/prime kevin garnett they would've of been a dynasty... fuck I hated typing that...it just makes me :(

I am still bitter that Nash won those MVPs, terrible decisions. Especially considering that Mavs went to finals the year after he left them.

Apparently the Heat minus Lebron, Wade, and Bosh are just a tiny little bit worse than the Wizards at full strength.
