Blast from the past and an entertaining read here: Mailce at the Palace

Possibly me favorite quote: The only time I felt I was about to get hurt was when a policeman popped his pepper spray container and started shaking it up. Reggie Miller was pleading with him, "Please don't. My suit costs x-hundred dollars."

Magic - Thunder finish was a little bit more exciting than expected...

Damn, rumors are floating that the Celts wants to send Ray Allen to to the Clips. That pretty much solves the SG problem as long as they don't give much away. Allen's one of my favorites and damn I would love to see him as a Clips. Most of all, that will solidify this team like no other.

I almost think that Paul Pierce would be a great fit into that clippers unit. Crunch time/playoff/isolation scoring would be so much easier with a scoring 2 guard being fed by chris paul. blake would force single coverage.

plus you need veteran scorers that know how to run an offense through them because vinny del negro isn't the best end of game decision maker.

the price would be steep though. something like d. jordan + mo. williams for paul pierce. (this trade works in the trade machine).

there's a ton of ways to make a clippers trade for Pierce work though.

of course pierce wants to retire a celtic, but a trade to his hometown on a instant championship contender would probably make him amendable.

    three team trade:

celtics: get steve nash and de Andre jordan ryan gomes
Clippers: ray allen and j. o'neal
suns: rajon rondo, brandon bass, and M. Pietrus

    game?

    works in the trade machine.

Jordan can't be traded, they'll lose their strength in the paint (their only line of defense really) plus he is Griffins best friend, you don't want to upset your star before he signs an extension. That definitely played a role in resigning Jordan with such a big contract.

Suns don't want M. Pietrus back again. And pretty sure Pietrus doesn't want to be in Phx either.

Is there a bigger pussy than Odom right now? Fuck, dude is still heart broken about almost being traded in the pre-season that the Mavs had to send him to the D-League. And I though Pau was the softest Laker ever. Khloe has bigger balls than this dude. Shit!

I understand odom's dad has health issues + his cousin dying, and winning 6th man of the year to being dumped for salary purposes lead to a depression spiral.. it sucks but its not like he was put on the Hornets and left out to dry... Odom theoretically fits perfectly into that Mavericks team.. and could be an integral cog in a another championship run.

there was an interesting angle stephen A smith had on espnNY radio today... a possible reason for the Laker's salary dumps is to lower the payroll due to Dr. Buss' deteriorating health. If he were to suddenly die this year there is a huge death inheritance tax to be shouldered by his sons/daughters.

the previous example mentioned by smith was when george Steinbrenner died - stienbrenner's sons were lucky to get some loophole due to the timing (year of his death):

you figure buss has to be worth at least half a billion... it might be the same situation for buss' kids to try to figure out how they will handle a huge tax bill

the lakers right now are in a state of flux with the rumored deteriorating health of dr. buss, the kids are all shoring up costs to brace themselves for the death inheritance tax and basically trying to dump salaries and stand pat until the whole issue gets resolved (macabrely that probably means waiting until buss dies).

Sorry for his dad and cousin but dude is soft as hell and a marriage to a Kardashian certainly doesn't help. Even all jokes aside, the damn succubus Khloe is likely feeding him all this BS that isn't allowing him to get over it.

it's really sad. lamar has always been "fragile." you just never knew whether he'd show up or not. and if he showed up, whether his head would be in the game.

    Could be true....

But Odom has been surrounded by death his entire life. I think he lost his first born child early on in his career. Now having family health issues. And then last year he went to New York I believe for a cousins funeral.... only to have the driver of the car he was in hit a motorcyclist and kill him.

Guy probably is not all there upstairs emotionally.
