and it sucks as he is definitely part of the Clips revival, chemistry and obvious veteran leadership.... :fu:

Dominican league baseball is something else. It's like a soccer environment for nine innings. Lot of MLB players come back to play winters in the DR so they have some good teams.

That sucks. Always liked Chauncy. That's a 2 year injury at least.

it sucks for Chauncey - ruptured achillies is the kind of thing that may force him into retirement.

then again Larry Bird had both Achilles cut (they had to cut the achilles tendon in both feet to get to bone spurs) and re-attached and ended up playing three more productive years... (i think he even averaged 20 points throughout).

granted the achilles were fine - but they were removed from their contact points then re-attached with screws. Chauncey's will be torn and not in good of shape.

Dominique Wilkins had a ruptured achilles when he was on the Celtics... he was out for a year and half and actually came back to the spurs and still had amazing leaping ability into his late late 30's.

take into account he also had a vertebral disc removed and fusion surgery (basically they shave bone fragments and make a new scaffolding across a partly removed vertebrae) a year after his heel spurs were removed and still played another year....

meaning chauncey still can come back, but its up to the teams that want to sign him...

Are you a Cavs fan or a Heat hater? I, obviously, am both.

Poor fucking Nuggets. They may be the team that was most screwed by the lockout.

If you didn't catch it, Bill Simmons did a podcast with Basketball Jesus. It's pretty good but not great. It's pretty interesting how much he remembers from individual games throughout his entire career. I can barely remember what I did a work last week.

there's a difference??? :puzzled: just kidding... but ya both. Long time Cavs fan and inevitable Heat hater for obvious reasons. They hung in there last night but fell apart late.

i'll bow to your medical background, but also point out 1) that bird made great numbers post-surgery, but in many interviews, he's said he was playing in horrible pain the entire time and probably should never have come back (of course, he had a whole raft of medical problems, primarily back, though as someone who has had achilles injury, back problems are often related). 2) Billups already is in his late 30s.

Jeremy Lin talks about his faith about as much as Tebow. It'll be interesting to see how this affects his stardom.

I'll save the indignation for when he does an anti-abortion commercial during the superbowl.

    EDIT: He goes off again.

And the Jeremy Lin show continues. Really want to see how he plays once Melo and Amare are back and they are playing real teams

ya it's interesting/weird considering that Taiwanese (his parents that is) are not particularly "organized' when it comes to religion and the majority are Taoist, Buddhist or folk/natural/animist.

on another note; Cavs beat the Clips!! How much (all?) is attributable to Chauncey's absence?
