i would think that dirk would have to play well so they could lure a superteam class agent to teh mavs, but listening to cuban talk about why they hired odem it makes sense

and inno man kobe's wife is pretty smoking hot

Fish saves the Lake's bacon last night! The offense was horrendous on both ends, but the Lakes came through.

I enjoyed that Laker's rookie who would get the ball with 8sec left on the shot clock then spazz out and think: "i can be Kobe!!" and then huck up a super contested brick to the groan of the crowd. this happened like 8 times last night.

That Smush 2.0 just doesn't deserve to be on the court.
I'm just happe Barnes is finally doing what he was signed for last year.
Now if he can just hit the occasional 3 like he did for the Warriors and Magic, then he'd be a very solid contributor.

+1 on both counts, but you have to admit that morris wasn't planned. He should normally be, at best, fourth PG, behind blake, fisher, and .... chris paul. couple things got in the way.
and i'm really liking the way barnes is playing. even my wife said "i may have to stop hating tattoo boy."

I still think they can do better though, I mean Spurs keeps mining DLeague and late-pick gold, why can't the Lakers?

There are rumors that Andre Miller might be a Laker by trade deadline, god I hope so. Even though Fisher saved the game last night, I'd still rather see him coming off the bench at this point.

It was kind of embarrassing at one point. Like, you HAVE played the sport of basketball before, RIGHT?

I know we always have late round picks, but we haven't had ANY luck in the draft...not even a pleasant surprise.

i beg your pardon. have you forgotten about Chukwudiebere Maduabum? and what about Ater Majok?
*I kid you not: check this out
they had a pretty good run in the mid 2000s (with worse teams = better choices): brian cook, luke walton, sasha, bynum, ronny turiaf, von wafer, jordan farmar, javaris crittendon ... at least those guys had a clue.

Bynum was a lottery pick. We BETTER have done well with that pick.

The rest are a bunch of  major FAILS.

do you guys watch laker games other than the nationally televised ones? i know rfx does

morris didn't do THAT bad. this last game pretty much everyone on offense was bad. but in past games he tries to run the offense and get it to the bigs, but sometimes they don't end up executing for whatever reason and he needs to chuck up a shot. he can get his own shot better than matt barnes or kapono. he's averaging 2 shots a game on the season so it's not like's chucking up bad shots left and right.

i watch almost all of them and have done for 10 or so years (probably more, but im' embarrassed to admit it's been that long since i had a life). morris is a real problem, but isn't playing that badly considering he's an nba rookie point guard. here's a tip: watch how many possessions he initiates that don't involve him dribbling around the 3-point line. for alll of his faults, fish brings the ball up, then immediately enters the ball into the offense, getting it to bynum, gasol or kobe. with morris, by the time they enter and start running the offense, there's usually less than 10 seconds left on the shot clock. first option all the way.
