Also, my source makes me think the CP trade just went down... saw this tweet from from Bill Simmons to confirm @sportsguy33 Bill Simmons
Heavy buzz that CP3/Clippers might be going down. Clips staff was just summoned to the office. Trying to get more info.

Good call on Chicago, didn't realize that deal was done. I'd still give the edge to the Battier acquisition because of fit and versatility, but wouldn't blame anyone who thought Rip was a better fit for Chicago (biggest knock is they need a 2 who can hit the 3). NY, I really wouldn't consider a contender even with Chandler. just IMO.

I've always been critical of the Lakers, I even called Odom lazy and got grilled by everyone, including non-Laker fans.

I really do think Bynum can be insanely dominant, just look at what he does in his limited time on the court. But that is exactly the problem, his injuries. I mean look at Roy, he is a beast but being forced to retire by his knees. No one will know how great he could have been and chances are, the same will be said about Bynum. Not to mention Bynum is still pretty damn immature for his age, just look at all the mid-air tackles he has done in his career. For his size, he doesn't even need to shove much and if continues the same attitude, he might kill someone. If I were running the Lakers, I'd use all my power to trade him as soon as possible because once the season starts and this dude steps on the court and hurts himself again, his value drops and there might not be much they can get for him in the future.

I would have preferred to bet and lose with CP3 than do absolutely nothing. It's hard to blame the Lakers when the league is making them fight with both hands behind their backs, but jesus christ our season was completely sabotaged from Day 0.

If the deal does go through, I would have wished they kept Aminu at least over Bledsoe. They need a SF than another PG, they already got Mo & Billups. Well I preferred they kept Gordon but it seems NO really wanted Gordon & the pick and Kaman & Aminu are just casualties.

I still do not see how the clippers trade is > what the original deal with lakers/rockets would have given them. Sure the 1st round pick might very well be top-5 but thats a gamble

I agree completely. now that NO got its trade, the Lakers are the one team that the veto well and truly fucked. the team should make this season their "fuck David Stern" campaign. ignore his dress code, refuse to do the dunk contest or 3pt shoot out, maybe Kobe should even tell USA Basketball to go fuck itself for the London Olympics. or better yet, play for Italy
