Yes, because the potential starting five of Kobe, Paul, Artest , FORWARD, and Bynum wasn't engineered by Lakers org and butt f***ed by the league.

yeah, i wouldn't be surprised. kobe supposedly went into kupchak's office all poed and came back out mollified. something along the lines of "mitch pulled off gasol for kwame, so we need to trust him."

    Back-to-back?
With their acquisition of the two most determined and hard working players in the game today.

Fuck, stupid W's, doing something just to say they did.

Add to the mix in Dallas, LeBron's daddy, Delonte West.

Brown isn't a bad signing. It's only for a year, will come off the books for the next FA class. He's a pretty good post defender. Beans has been completely incapable the last two seasons. I'm hoping he'll turn it around but I'm not counting on it.
It is a bad signing if it prevents us from pulling off a good deal but no one wants to deal or sign with the dubs. Team still has a poor reputation to overcome before the bay area is a sought-after destination.

Kwame isn't worth $7m no matter how you look at it.

and game changer, Lakers sign Gerald "9 1/2 fingers" Green!!

Story of the dubs, always having to overpay. It's an inconsequential signing, they have to meet cap minimum. Getting tix for my first professional NBA game. OKC @ GSW!

No need to defend that signing, I am sure there are far better players they can sign for the same price. Or for a far more better price. David West got $20m for 2 years, you're saying they couldn't have offered him that or more? I would offer West $22m for 2 years before I give Kwame even just $2m for a year.

Being a GSW fan, you'll see soon enough why. Dude couldn't even catch an alley-oop to save his life.

That Kwame signing was pretty bad, but I don't think it was awful. They need a center and got completely shut out of this year's FA market. It's only a one year deal and they can try again next year. Or since he's technically on an expiring contract, they can flip him for Pau. And since the Lakers seem to be in salary dump mode, hey, you never know.

What's worse is GS wasting their amnesty on Charlie Bell. I think that was the dumbest move of the offseason.

I feel partly to blame for that Kwame signing, shouldn't have named my fantasy team #1draftpick_KwameBrown.

"alley-oop" is being charitable. try 5-foot bounce pass. i always figured kwame had a really good game if his combined turnovers and missed shots were less than his points. there weren't a lot of those nights.

I've heard the Lakers might use the Odom trade exception to trade for Paul Millsap. But I don't know how much truth there is to that.

And i think McRoberts is pretty good value for the mini-midlevel.
