Don't think I've posted here since the end of Fantasy BBall season. Lurked since then though. Nice to see some diverse conversation spring up.

    Two NBA related questions.

Since it's the 10 year anniversary of the Kwame Brown debacle - 10 years later who should have gone first overall? My pick is Pau Gasol.

Also I was reading the Washington Post earlier today and an article on LeBron James stated that two Western Conference GMs would still pick LeBron to build a franchise around even after his choke job in the finals. If you could pick any NBA player to build your franchise around who would it be?

    Interesting questions.

Assuming the Wizards would have drafted another real C then I'd say Chandler, Jason Collins, Haywood or maybe even Diop. Not real great choices though. If they could have lived with a PF/C, obviously Pau hands down.

It's interesting looking at that draft, esp. re: discussions about how this year's draft is weak (that one wasn't real strong either). In hindsight, a lot of overvalued guys; Joe Johnson and Richard Jefferson somewhat undervalued; and Zach Randolph, Gerald Wallace, Tony Parker, Gilbert Arenas, Mehmet Okur quite a bit undervalued.

    Build around? Still Kobe imo.

I'll pick Tim Duncan in his prime. Great leader, classy, and consistent. But if now...it would be LeBron James for me. Kobe would be my second choice. He's amazing but he's not the easiest for team mates to play with.

I'd go Lebron too, then Wade.

Brandon Knight went to HS around here. Seemed to be a good kid. Seeing Jimmer in person, I think he can play in the NBA as long as no one expects him to play defense.

Player to build a franchise around today? Kevin Durant.

Lebron, no question. Rose next. Why the fuck would anybody choose Kobe at his age?

How long will Mike Brown last as Lakers coach?

    1. Till contract expires
    2. 1st full season and quits because burnt out
    3. Kobe led mutiny in the locker room get Mike Brown fired before ASG, and Shaw takes rightful position coach.

You would pick Kobe to build a team around right now? 1300+ games/multiple knee surgeries/can't turn it on anymore whenever he wants/approaching mid 30's Kobe?

I think jet's rule should be if you can't recognize an iso as it happens, stay out of the thread.
