do you think kobe tries on Sunday? Its almost the pragmatic thing to do is to just let this season end without putting too much stress on yourself/body (then gear up for next year). Just like when you're down 0-5 during a set in tennis match.

He'll try, but this team seems seriously fucked up, and I don't see how they'll be any better next year with this same cast.

I my estimation Kobe should go on a scoring tear. No more assisting, No more getting everyone involved, No more cheerleading...just go out an put up as many points as possible. Play man to man and everyman to do his best.

Listen., Pau and Andrew are the softest 7 footers this league has ever seen since Shawn Bradley.
    true statement

[IMG] See, people who didn't watch the game shouldn't talk. Either you didn't see the game or you have no idea what the hell you are watching. Bynum dominated tonight, he was bodying everyone yet idiots still say he is soft? I mean how the hell can anyone who watched tonight game can even believe this statement? Again, Pau I understand, even Phil was getting on his case but Bynum was playing great tonight. Still blame most of it on Pau, he just left Dirk with wide open 3's at least 4-5 times and dude sinks it like it's a lay-up. Dude was lost until about the last 2 minutes of the game. Anyways, Lakers are in big trouble now. People say if any team can come back from a being down 3-0 then it's the Lakers, my heart believes it but my brain is smacking my heart and telling it to shut the hell up. I still believe but.... damn! It might be a very interesting Dallas vs. Miami finals. [IMG]

Yuck. I did not watch most of that game, only the last 5 min or so, but what I saw was A) the Mavs are simply playing better and B) what i said about Kobe v. Dirk before is true. At the end, when being able to score was crucial, Dirk either scored or changed the defense enough for someone else to. Kobe did not and was not able to make the amazing play when it was needed.

Lakers are done for the year, they need a point guard, and to start finding an heir to Kobe. And a better bench. They don't need it blow it up but they do need some more talent.
Not sure where they can find heart though.

    Kobe will try.

Fuck. Someone better beat the Heat. Right now it's everyone v. the Heat as far as I'm concerned. Rather the fucking Hawks win than fucking LaBitch. Arggg.... somebody better step the fuck up.
Go Mavs. Time for some sweet redemption.

    I agree NC.

I don't see how the Lakers can get out of this hole (even if Kobe "goes on a scoring tear"...[IMG]); they look beat as a team.

A Thunder-Bulls Finals with the Thunder winning would be cool. Anyone but Miami, please!

I did watch the game. One night does not a BEAST make. Nowitski is soft as well, but his numbers will make you stand still. I never seen so many layups from 7 footers. Look at some 1978-85 footage to see Beastly B Ball. Everyone wants to be MJ no matter what size they are. There are too many positions in Basketball...point guard, shooting guard, small forward, shooting forward, true center, power forward. This has gotten out of hand!!!!

Obviously I posted that for Game 1 and 2. Look at the date. It's alright. You're obviously flustered that Lakers won't be doing a 3peat. Enjoy watching the Bulls win everything. OKC vs. Bulls. Lakers bandwagon fans can go back into hiding now.

    Pau's chica.

I think it is probably a upper respiratory infection. One of the symptoms is muscle fatigue and weakness which perfectly fits his current performance.

No tits. How can you miss no tits?

Illnesses, girlfriend problems, nagging injuries what ever makes you guys feel better. They're all professional athletes and they're all susceptible to that crap, even the Mavericks.

The bottom line is if they're physically (or mentally) healthy enough to step on the court and play then all the other off the court bullshit shouldn't be used to explain their poor performance.

Dirk will choke. He always has and he always will. He is the albatross hanging around the neck of Mavericks basketball.

Think I'll buy me a new broom tomorrow.

i watched the whole game. it was probably the lakers best full game of the series but it wasn't good enough. the dirk/kobe comparison is not fair. dirk was beasting, but the backbreaker was peja gd stojakovich who knocked down just about every open 3 he had in the fourth quarter. that was huge ... everytime the lakers sent a second man at nowitzki, two passes later someone was shooting a wide-open short-corner 3. by comparison, kobe only had bynum inside. pau was mia except for all but a few minutes and lamar flitted in and out of consciousness. dallas just played a better game ... for the third game in a row.

So two games makes him soft? Dude has been beasting for 2 months and you judge him by two games? And not to mention that Bynum had 18/13 in game two and that is still soft? Get the fuck out of here. Again, people are just saying shit out of their mouth and the bandwagon Lakers haters comes out when they were losing? Shit, that is easy to talk shit now that they are losing.

Where the hell where you the past 3 years? And don't give me that the season is too long BS, your just another Laker hater for the sole reason that a lot of other people are Lakers fans and you feel you need to be different but only show up when it's easy to hate.

Again, this is twice Bynum has beasted on the Mavs (see game 2 stat above),even Phil admitted he should have gotten the ball more tonight since he was heated.
Too many lay-ups from 7 footers? If you mean they do not defend it's because the game is too damn sensitive these days. A tap and it's an automatic foul. A flop and it's an automatic foul, you have to be cunning and swift these days, you can't jus tbody people like in the 80's.

Yeah, what the fuck is up with not getting the ball inside? And why sit Kobe so long? Zen master might just have his eye a little too solidly on the door...

After a few minutes in the fourth, you can clearly see Kobe yelling at Phil to put him back in. I think it took another minute or two before he put him back in. They really should leave Kobe in the whole 4th unless he was in foul trouble, there was no point in leaving him in the bench, offense and defense struggles when he isn't on the court since their bench is struggling badly. At least Brown showed up for a little bit tonight.
