Would be interesting to find out whether LeBron supports the Yankees or the Indians...

5yr $148mm for Embiid. His stats are impressive but he's played less than a quarter of the games since he was drafted

Mirotic ouch. 2 broken bones and a concussion.

Bobby Portis in hot water for punching him in the face at practice.

I don't get it, if I did this to someone at work, I'd be prosecuted. Why is the NBA immune?

You’re not the top .01% at your job in the world. Portis is.

First of all, you don't know that :eh:

In seriousness, how can you break 2 bones in somebody's face and give them a concussion, and it not be treated like a criminal matter?

Sporting events tend to be excused for fighting. If not, then a lot of hockey fights would end in arrests. Same with MMA and boxing matches.

I'm aware, but why? I wouldn't prosecute a shoving match in the middle of a game, but this is a totally different situation.

If I did this at a local indoor soccer league, I'd be prosecuted.

It's really up to the company and to Mirotic pressing charges.

And hockey doesn't even have showing matches, they throw actual punches.

The NBA also has actual fist fights before and again it's all up to the company and how they handle it. They could simply fine them, fire them or even prosecute if there are charges but that is the extreme.

According to reports it was Mirotic who instigated the fight by showing Portis several times and when Portis pushed him back Mirotic charged at him. That's when Portis decked Mirotic.
