There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Btw I'm comfortable with maxing Whiteside. The deal is not without risk, but his talent is clear (put up these numbers since he started logging decent minutes), and he fits well on the team. And his skills are truly game-changing. So the main risk is that he turns into (or reverts to being?) a knucklehead.

But where else would the Heats put their money? In my mind he's clearly the best available center even over Horford and Howard. And the Heat will be stacked if Bosh comes back (and after they sign KD hehehehe)

    Either way, it's pretty hilarious.

They still need Wade. I bet they're waiting to see if they have a shot at KD first. But I agree - he can't be happy about this

OJ Mayo getting banished is going to totally shake up everyone's fee agency strategy.

    Well, not really.

I'm not following how the Heat disrespecting Wade. He's 34, and there's clearly a precedent toward drawbacks in maxing out aging superstars.

They're probably making a serious run at maxing out KD instead, selling him on Whiteside, Riley's leadership, Spol's LT credibility, the location (can't think of a better place post OKC), and Bosh's potential return. This last point seems as much a pro as a con. I'm unclear how the insurance/cap impact would work if he does retire (and why would he if he were to lose any money in the process?).

I approve. Nice piece of business.

You're missing the biggest risk, which is he stops caring after getting a payday. Remember you're looking at a 27 yr old that just suddenly started playing well. It doesn't add up.

What's the rule here? Is there like a 3 strike policy or something?

Since he stayed with the Heat his whole career and "sacrificed" money in the past, he feels entitled to be Kobe'd. Something went down when Lebron left with his contract and he's been a whiny boy ever since.

All things being equal, I can't imagine that going by "OJ" isn't helping him get the benefit of any doubts.

Not to just ape the Twitter-scape, but I found it interesting that Whiteside apparently has a clause in his contract where he'd accept slightly less than max if KD comes to Miami. I haven't heard of that before, but sounds interesting.

What is Portland up to? $70m to Turner, whose unique skill is point forward, when they already have Lillard? And then they're gonna give another wing, Parsons, a max contract?
