1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Same was said of Andrew Bynum, Rashard Lewis, Marbury, Penny Hardaway, Allan Houston, oh wait, how about Gilbert Arenas? Eddy Curry! Amare! LOL Larry Hughes? Lets not forget Juwan Howard. My personal favorite, that Shawn Kemp contract.

Oh, and Jayson Williams was definitely going to be an all star player elsewhere.

You'll see the same mistake this summer with D Howard and Whiteside.

Stop bringing other players into the discussion. We're talking about Kawhi Leonard here. If SA let him walk, armchair warriors like you (but with more sense) would be tearing them to pieces for giving up a franchise player. SA has always made good decisions when it comes to personnel and they're great evaluators of talent.

Also, thanks for conveniently omitting the last sentence of my previous post, which was completely valid justification for giving him a max.

And before I forget, one of my favorite bits from Bill Simmons:

We're talking about paying Leonard, and one way to judge whether it's deserved is history which is a consistent stream of horribly overpaid players. Leonard was averaging 16 and 7, just not enough to warrant a max. After this season, yes. In hindsight it would have been the right move to give him a max, but hindsight, in your armchair, is easy.

Read the thread history last year and that crowd that said Gobert deserved a max. Where are they?

All the players I mentioned were more or less statistically on par with Leonard's numbers, just consider all the "valid justifications" that led to paying Eddy Curry. And just look at Omir Asik at the end of the bench sucking up salary. And Roy Hibbert.

Idiot. If they're right in hindsight, that means they were right all along. You were just too stupid to realize it when they did.

And none of those players you listed ever won a championship and Finals MVP. The one guy you listed who did win (Andrew Bynum) never got a big shiny max contract -- he got a 2-year/$25-mil deal that was mostly incentive-laden (only $6 mil guaranteed) because Cleveland knew of his injury history.

Nobody was right all along about Leonard, you're struggling with creeping determinism.

I never said Andrew Bynum got a max deal.

    EDIT: ^ What he said.

Danny Green 4/4 from 3 point range. I hope he keeps it up for the playoffs.

Is there a reason Donovan is a "real" coach? Appears to be getting worse results with a significantly better team than Brooks had.

I don't know shit about basketball, fwiw.

All the social media idiots are praising the luke walton choice acting as if he's going to turn current lakers into current warriors.

I still can't believe they gave that fool a 5 year deal.

He was a very good college coach. Doesn't always translate to the pros, but I figured it wasn't possible to be shittier than Scotty "One Play" Brooks, hence the crack about OkC getting a "real coach"

good pedigree, maybe they feel like he can develop a system and then draft/sign players into that system.

a long-term deal was probably the only way to get him out of oakland

i don't think the lakers are expecting a ring next year, who cares what social media idiots think?

You were implying that he was grossly overpaid. The truth is most of his contract wasn't guaranteed, so using him as an example for your asinine argument is just stupid.

    Agree.

He was grossly overpaid. And "hindsight" says I'm right.

Groupthink in this thread felt Gobert deserved a max too. Silence on that point justifies creeping determinism. Leonard is a "big win", but Gobert... it's as if the "gotta pay him" didn't happen.
