Navy with sportcoats

I've gone through the archives and read alot of the posts here on the navy blue issues of black vs brown. I'm in the camp of dark brown or chestnet shoe color, but what do you think of matching a dark brown jacket like this with navy trousers, offsetting color with the shirt/tie/square combo:

I think the color combination you have described can work very well, although the particular outfit shown in the STP add doesn't work for me -- just too busy.

I don't particularly care for the brown color of the jacket you posted, but I've paired a brown sportcoat with navy slacks many times and it looks great.

Dark brown shoes are probably more traditional, but light brown ones would be a good look as well.
