I don't think you should wear those shoes with that suit, period. Gray suit, white shirt, gray/blue tie? Just fine. I can't even see the tie, and I can tell you the colors work.

Clunky blue shoes with a tan welt (and if those are the Cole Haans I think they are, they're damn clunky -- north of an Alden LWB) make no sense with a suit like that. They're casual shoes. Maybe with a tweed jacket and cords, you could wear them. Certainly with cords and a sweater. If you want something to wear with a suit, get something black or dark brown and a little more elegant in shape and finishing. If you're married to the idea of blue shoes, then an elegant pair is an acceptable eccentricity.

+1 - Those don't work with a suit, they are casual to the core (including the laces), and I am a huge fan of navy dress shoes. I think something like these would go nicely with the suit you are looking at...

I'm not worried that they're too casual, and in my opinion they don't look as clunky as they do in that picture. It's mainly wedding-wear, not professional, so I was just trying to 'pull off the look' more than anything.

...curious to know why the fxck you started a thread if you'd already made up your mind and were going to disregard everyone's input? What? Were you just hoping for a pat on the back?...a little validation? Your kind is amusing.

You can wear anything you want, if that is what defines "pulling off the look".

If you are interested in knowing if it will look "good", then re-read the replies above.

Regardless of the situation you wear them in, they are incongruent with a grey suit, tie, and white shirt. Bad idea IMO.

I've got these navy wingtips:

And I'm going to wear them with a grey suit like this:

what do you think is a good shirt/tie option? I am leaning towards a white shirt with a grey & blue tie like this: http://www.thetiebar.com/order_page...&pg=4&categoryIds=31,66,14,55&optionValueIds=

With these shoes, do you think i could get away with any other color combos?

Thanks

#menswear abomination. Raw/neutral welt/sole x Odd colored upper. Bonus points if they are cordovan. Would be just almost perfect when paired with neon green shoe laces. Would be perfect if patinated or painted camoflouge.

I was going to ask the same. Here's a suggestion-don't come to a forum asking for advice and then ignore it. I don't agree with everything in here, but those shoes bare go with a pair of cords and a tweed SC.

I believe those are the Carmina MTO in shell.

You are correct.

I will add my voice to those presently being ignored by he OP, and say the suggested shoes are not of a style that would best be paired with a suit. Something like the austerity brogues posted by pinkpanther, or these faves from my own rotation would work very well indeed:

Sorry, bud, but those shoes do not look good with a suit. I like them in general, but not with a suit. They would look much better with khakis, cords, etc. - not a suit.
