Hey,

Will these shoes go with this navy suit...I think they may be too light colored but if you think could work they would be a nice departure from the usual black or tan that is so popular.

Here is the suit:

Here are the shoes...

Suede bluchers with a suit? Absolutely.

Just not those suede bluchers, a little too green.

Thanks,

The shoes are a quite a bit darker in real life. More dark brown.
Do you still think they wouldn't work?

What would you recommend to wear them with?

For a conservative look, I'd stick to black. Or very dark brown or burgundy if you really must. Your suit is also quite a structured and clean looking suit, which only emphasises that preference.

If your purpose is not business (or if your workplace isn't neurotic about these things) then lighter colours can certainly be used. So can suede. So can casual styles of shoes. But the stronger the intensity with which these 3 factors are present, the more your suit has to be relaxed enough looking to mesh with the shoes. Your suit doesn't go with those shoes on any of those 3 aspects. If it were a much lighter blue, in linen, and styled softly, those shoes might work great with them. With your very dark, formal-looking and structured suit, the shoes will stick out like a very sore thumb IMO.

The highlighted stitching = too casual for a suit in my mind ( unless Miami Vice is in fashion again - in which case don't forget to roll up your jacket sleeves and go for it)

Some good comments above. Those shoes are casual better suited to casual clothes. Black suede, chocolate, gray, or even snuff would do.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
