    Dear all,

I'm new here, in need of reshaping my wardrobe....

I was thinking of this outfit :

    - navy turtleneck
    - black trousers
    - Navy shoes

I've seen a few places on the internet where they advise not to pair navy shoes with black trousers, but there is a part of me that would find this stylish,
    am I wrong ?

    Yes

Whilst I have no adverse comments many here will not like black trousers. However burn the navy shoes - dreadful thought.

One day everyone will agree with an outlandish proposal simply to demonstrate the folly in asking others to 'dress' them.

If you want to wear navy shoes:
    Turtleneck - wine
    Trousers - charcoal grey

Thinking in terms of "outfits" is the exact wrong way to start. For versatility, I would suggest that you replace those three pieces with -- no surprises here! -- navy turtleneck, charcoal trousers and black oxfords.

I'd lose the oxfords in this outfit and replace them with monks. Better for a casual look. Otherwise, +1.
