What would you get on YOUR navy 3 roll 2 single-breasted linen sport jacket with white MOP buttons? Single or double vent?

I'd go with side vents. Seen as it is a casual jacket, I imagine you'll be putting your hands in your pockets a lot.

Double.

However, it depends how you are styling the sportcoat. If you're having a half-belt which is sometimes done with Linen then a centre vent looks better.

Mine is double. Double for everything except a hacking jacket, which I don't own and almost certainly never well.

Ed, your new avatar is terrible.

its temporary. Will probably change it to a classy, luxury humbler or smotherbox.

I would go double, which is what I have all my sports coats made with.

Agreed. Isn't no vent a classic option for a dinner jacket?

It is, though I got mine with side anyway because I didn't give a damn.

Is that rule purely based on convention? Wouldn't side vents be just as easily if not more so wearable when riding?

I also remember someone mentioning that that center vents are also appropriate in Germany since putting one's hand(s) in their pocket is a no-no - thoughts?
