I just got a pair of these trou, knowing it would work well with a solid mid-grey or solid brown blazer. My question is, is it alright to wear with a solid navy blazer as well?

I wouldnt do navy + navy. Will look too much like mismatching jacket + pants of a suit

Can you post a larger image of the trousers? It all depends on the similarity of the fabrics - can it be determined from a distance that these are not a pair and that you are trying to pull them off as such. And their are many shades of what we generally call navy.

Would have to see it!

I´d have to see more detailed pics but I´d tend towards no. A check blazer with plain pants would be easier to pull off

It could work if the blues of different shades (though that would technically make one not navy), different textures, etc. But it's more more likely to not look good, and it's so much easier and less of a headache to just pick a sports coat of a different color.

I would only do it if there was great color contrast between the jacket and trousers, not if the dominant color of both is navy.

Those would probably look steezy with a grey flannel or a grey tweed blazer if you have one.

Depends on whether you have the confidence to pull it off. Generally, the more contrasting the pieces, the higher social status is the wearer/occasion, and vice versa. I often wear an ordinary navy blazer with navy slacks -- as very casual wear.
