Ah, but they used to back when the Esquire Plates were being made, now they wear fresco, sometimes with a hint of mohair.

It's the solid navy and blue-grey associations, not the texture.

Solid blue can appear awkward with a flannel cloth...A fine stripe or a chalk one will make it more interesting...

The strange thing is I love solid dark grey flannel suit..

A pure grey is fine, from white down to black, it has it's positive uses and associations; even if some are now antiquated.
