from what i've been reading, a lot of canadian fans feel this is karmic justice for the canada-usa soccer game where the ref made a questionable call leading to the tying american goal. personally i think canada has an embarrassing inferiority complex and needs to stfu about getting jobbed by the refs in every sport they play. not to mention canada is in a constant state of rustled jimmies whenever it comes to competing with usa with literally anything so i'm not surprised canucks are being sore winners about it all. i will wait until tomorrow afternoon before i say anything that might tempt fate.

i think the knight penalty was somewhat soft, and more of a trip than a cross-check, but i even as a canadian i find it hard to pin that one on the refs. this one is squarely on usa for blowing it with one minute left. 3 ladies in front of the net and somehow poulin is allowed to walk in unscathed for the equalizer. great game though, thrilling finish. pretty pissed i was at work and couldn't watch it. am gonna miss the game tomorrow too.

I haven't seen anyone mention the summer olympics anywhere, so I'm not sure where you're getting that. And if there is an inferiority complex, it's because we're constantly being inundated with American culture. The Olympics is probably the one time you'll hear anything out of Canada in the U.S, so suck it up.
