Yea, just read the news. Hope he and his family the best. He was a very good solid backup.
have been watching some KHL game on TV. Very different type of game, especially thanks to the rink size, its interesting to watch.
I hate it...
i mean, I much prefer NHL style too, but college hockey was not an option at 3 PM today as I was nursing a wrecked ankle.
channeled my inner hasek the other night and made the other goalie look bad, great feeling. highlight was a second effort flop paddle save off a breakaway rebound. who is still playing?? gotta get some action shots!
Haven't been on the ice in a few years (since my daughter was born). Been playing roller as the rink is in my neighborhood and game times are reasonable. Tough as nails blue collar league, and nice nd cheap, $50 per season (15 games plus playoffs) plus ref fees. Price is subsidized by the Cit y Parks Dept I believe. Was on fire when the rink shut down for a resurfacing and rebuild of the boards and fencing ($50,000 project paid for through funding secured by Marty Markowitz) and then Sandy ripped through. Behind schedule about a month and a half, but ready to kick bck up again...will post pics.
I'm playing ice here in Korea. Most of the players are Canadians, some have played a high level of juniors. Sometimes Korean university and national team players play as well, and they are extremely good. I wasn't expecting the high level of play here in Seoul, but I'm glad it exists.
hurt it trying to wrestle away a shark from a group of baby dolphins.
ok, no, I was carrying a giant load of laundry down the stairs and I couldn't see much in front of me. What I thought was a stair landing was actually just air thanks to the presence of another step that I didn't see thanks to the laundry, and the side of my ankle took the full impact at the bottom.
also, I'd love to play in a rec league, but it'd be too much of a pain, both time wise and travel wise.
Yup, the only reason I play where I do is its proximity...saves me so much time.
looks like Pronger and his family moved to St. Louis. I'm guessing he's done.
also, Dartmouth vs. Vermont tonight on NBC.
I refuse to get excited over the latest CBA discussions - I still maintain the season is done.
Also, whats the consensus on best knockoff jerseys? I wanna get something new without breaking the bank... my equipment is red/white/black so it works with Team Canada stuff but definitely not Calgary. If only I were a Blackhawks, Sens, or Devils fan... I could probably swing a Flames practice jersey though. Should've gotten my gear in all white... then I could go with Suomi / Kiprusoff jersey
the frustrating part was it felt like there was no progress for months, but only now that there's a much more real potential for the season being fully cancelled are the two groups finally like "oh, shit, we should really talk about this"
That is what gives credence to the owners scripting this to end in late December from the start. They wanted to flex their muscles to show who is in control. Not my way of bargaining but the sporting business is not run like real businesses so why should collective bargaining be any more so.
