If you want casual food I highly recommend Burger Up on 12th street right down from Imogene and Willie (which you must visit) everything at burger up is locally grown and they have an awesome jack Daniels maple ketchup for dipping...

If you are toward the west end of town, consider driving out to the Loveless Cafe just at the end of the Natchez Trace Pkwy, about 15 miles southwest of downtown. One of the most satisfying meals I've ever had.

PRINCE'S HOT CHICKEN SHACK Sunset Grille There's a pretty decent Korean restaurant there. Also a place near Vandy that starts with a Z that I enjoyed. Lot's of decent steak. For brunch, there's a Jewish style deli - Noshville, I think. I liked that a lot, and a primanti brothers style sandwhich place called Phirannah's. But seriously... GO TO PRINCE'S
