Narrow lapels

I don't know the context, but this pic is from the upcoming Brad Pitt/Angelina Jolie movie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Them's some lapels. He's gorge-less, she's gorgeous. Wonder who's designing the costumes; I know they play assassins. Nifty dressers, assassins.

It probably does look better in the movie, but these lapels are not working for me. Pitt is, not by any stretch, slim shouldered and needs his lapels. There is a limit to how far a fashion trend can be taken.

I'll on the other hand disagree with the AA crowd and give Jolie a nod. Cool girl, although a bit messed up on the top floor.

Yes, that is going too far, and this is coming from a person who always prefers skinny lapels. Luke Wilson wore a jacket with similarly scrimpy lapels on his hosting of SNL a month or so ago. I do not know who makes that jacket. Even Dior Homme and Helmut Lang suits have lapels with a little more substance.
